The challenge was set to create a three course meal and cook it using nothing but foil on an open wire down in the woods.
The biggest challenge was getting the fire lit in the damp conditions we endured over the weekend of the competition. After a lot of determination and some helpful advice from leaders, the fire eventually was lit and we piled on more wood to give us a bed of embers, which were used to do the cooking on. For starters we created stuffed peppers which had tomatoes and garlic filling. For our main course we stuffed chicken fillets with mozzarella cheese and wrapped it all up in bacon and for desert we hollowed out oranges and filled them with chocolate cake mix. All the members of the team had jobs to do in preparing and making the food and maintaining the fire.
The judges obviously liked all of this, as our team claimed victory in the annual competition.
