Scouts

Our Scout Troop numbers around 20+ Scouts and consists of small units of up to six Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.

Rock climbing, cycling, orienteering, hiking, cooking, archery, canoeing and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.

There are many different activity badges that can be gained, depending on the age, skill and enthusiasm of each Scout. Some of the badges require a bit more brain than brawn… so there is something for everyone!

As a young boy, scouting gave me a confidence and camaraderie that is hard to find in modern life.
