Gladstone Explorers

Explorers in Hawarden meet on a Tuesday between 7.45pm to 9.15pm

Explorers

Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the Explorer programme and the direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders.

The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections.

There is wider scope for activities like sailing, canoe expeditions, rock climbing, white water rafting, Duke of Edinburgh Award, mountaineering and expeditions.

Closer to home and there are fun evenings where cooking, music, and quizzes are happening. Playing real life Monopoly around a local City or Town, an escape and evasion overnight exercise and Camping with other Explorers from the District are also regular events.

As a young boy, scouting gave me a confidence and camaraderie that is hard to find in modern life.
